ARTAC (Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de México, A.C.) es una Asociación Civil sin fines de lucro formada por profesionales en artes visuales, son también el Comité Mexicano de la Asociación Internacional de Artes Plásticas (IAA por sus siglas en inglés), ONG asociada a la UNESCO que está integrada por 70 países en las cinco regiones culturales de la UNESCO. La IAA busca estimular la comunicación y cooperación entre artistas de todos los países que representa.
ARTAC busca proteger y mejorar la condición social, económica y cultural del artista mexicano e impulsa el crecimiento personal y profesional de sus asociados a través de su participación en simposios, talleres, conferencias, bienales, diplomados y demás. (Video: ARTAC. Día mundial del arte)
Adicionalmente ARTAC trabaja de cerca con instituciones educativas para promover la integración de lo artístico en la vida diaria de niños y jóvenes, utilizando el arte como herramienta para el desarrollo cognoscitivo y creativo así como medio para prevenir la violencia. Algunos ejemplos:
